The suns shining, it’s been a quiet weekend in, your laying in bed on a Sunday, bored. Well there is a new way to cure that Sunday boredom and no I’m not talking about a roast at your nans, Its Utopia Day parties. Bringing summer vibes to east London the venue of 93 feet east hosts free day parties for all to enjoy. From 12pm-10pm you can enjoy dancing and world renowned DJ’s.

Utopia is somewhere I discovered in first year and now being in my second year I still find it the perfect summer party. Utopia is the sister event of massive house music company Dazed. Dazed are well known for throwing some of the best all night raves in London. Therefore Utopia was set up as their sister day party event. Utopia has seen some of the likes of Max chapman, The Mistaa, J.W Harrison all major DJ’s in the house music industry.

93 east is one of, if not the best summer venue I have been to. The venue includes an outdoor dancing/smoking area. In the outside terrace a shisha bar & drinks bar are available. When you go inside you come to the smaller room also fit with a bar, this room is fit with podiums for people to dance on and when busy it gives off amazing vibes. If you follow through to the double doors at the back you reach the main room which is massive and for a small venue has a huge capacity. Not only is the venue amazing it is small enough so when you lose your pals on the dancefloor you know you won’t spend half your night having to trek across a massive building to find them.

As the sun goes down the outside DJ’s head indoors and so does the crowd .From 6-10 the two inside rooms are filled with people dancing and enjoying themselves. At times these rooms would sometimes get too packed, this is where the outside terrace comes in handy. The outside terrace can be used as a smoking area or even be used as just a place to chill out from all the madness inside. Many smoking areas of house music events are policed with lots of bouncers, which often can feel intimidating.93 east operates a 0 tolerance for drugs, however you do not feel that your every move is being watched.A quote from one of the organisers of Dazed/Utopia events stated ‘We want the people who walk into our events to feel completely immersed in the experience and leave all their stress at the door’.

There are big things to come for Utopia day partys as they start to advertise all their summer debuts. They are expanding from 93 feet east to venues such as Hotbed’s well known rooftop hotel ‘Ace’. Being a student in the summer in London can sometimes be depressing, the weather is beautiful but the expensive prices are a problem. Utopia have catered to the needs of young people who can’t afford £30 for an event ticket. I recommend Utopia day parties to anyone, it’s not only a great vibe & way to spend your Sunday but at free entry and discounted drinks (2 for 1 on beers, doubles £5 till 6), it’s good for your bank account.
