Passion Over Profit

In life we often go through different phases, different passions and dedicate different parts of our lives to certain dreams we have. I myself have indulged in dancing, swimming throughout my teen years. Media however is something I have decided to pursue further. Below are a few selected images I created at the age of 17. Having spent the beginning of my teenage years at a school where I was unable to express myself or anything I felt passionate about. I went to college where my love for photography flourished. I owe going to university and bettering myself for my future careers, all down to the college I went to. I may have not been the best, some days I was the worst but my efforts were appreciated and my creativity praised. Behind each photograph I took is a story, a message. I have touched on issues such as prostitution, anorexia and even domestic violence. I enjoy the thought that looking at one photograph can tell you everything you need to know. As we all know a picture paints a thousand words. Therefore I will leave the interpretation up to you.

We live in a world where it sometimes seems easier to give up on our passions, to get a job for the sake of money. But finding what makes you feel alive in this world and pursuing it, that’s what it’s all about. So discover the thing that makes you want to get out of bed in the morning and hold onto it. My 17 year old self-created these photos no experience in photography with very little confidence. And today exploring that passion is one of the best things I ever chose to do. So remember passion over profit every day.

Hope you enjoy them, feel free to look at all my photography Tumblr blogs linked below.
